Issue with METARs

Hi again Balt, I found something else. Not really a bug maybe, but something to think about. When PSX starts up with the "Set flight zones by flight track..." unchecked, I believe it refers to the last weather saved in its system. If I understand it correctly, if that box stays unchecked, ...

Corridor injection?

Hi Balt, I noticed something with the wind corridor injection tonight. Origin: RJOM Current Position: KMC (Komatsu VOR) Time: 0216Z October 9, 2024 Altitude: FL410 SAT in PSX: originally -19C when reaching FL410, decreasing slowly, -25C as I type this Wind Corridor Point: RTFX1 N3349.2 E13242.6 FL16...

Feature request: Time sync option

So with weather being injected from RT into PSX under "Advanced WX injection," RT is disabling the checkbox in PSX "Set flight zones by downloaded METAR..." This is fine. But doing that actually adds a step in PSX, if you are flying with real-time traffic. That's because with the...

Re: Turbulence?

If I understand correctly, RealTraffic injects METARs, which may contain thunderstorms, which are painted on the radar in PSX. If I fly into one of those, where does the turbulence come from? Does it come from RT's injected turbulence model, or from the PSX-native "thunderstorm experience"?

Re: RT coverage

The Real Traffic User Positions plot is kinda fun! I'm the one in Japan right now.

Re: Turbulence?

Thanks, that's helpful.

RealTraffic is great BTW. I would never fly without RealTraffic, PSX, MSFS, and PSXTraffic. An essential combo.

Re: Turbulence?

While we are on the subject... How does RealTraffic handle thunderstorms? It seems like RealTraffic and PSX think differently about where to place thunderstorms enroute. If Hardy tells me I'm wrong, I'll believe him, but it seems like PSX enjoys putting cells close to the FMC route, perhaps to allow...

Wow, this is really neat. It's nice to see the intermittent bumps.

Turbulence?

Does RealTraffic's weather injection trigger turbulence? I could be hallucinating, but it seems that native PSX with online weather generally only simulates turbulence when the aircraft is within a SIGMET that forecasts turbulence. With RealTraffic injecting weather, I think I'm seeing more brief tu...
